Round fourteen of the Monster Energy Supercross Series was held at the U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN.  It was the last of the three Triple Crown Events this season.  With Colt Nichols and Dylan Ferrandis out for the remainder of the season, fill-in rider, Thomas Ramette had his first taste of the three-main event format. Ramette went eight-fifteen-seven in the mains, to finish ninth overall.

Aaron Plessinger was in a class of his own at the muddiest race of the season.  While others were crashing and getting stuck, Plessinger took control of both his heat race and the main event by leading every lap of each race.  He won the second heat by fifty-seven seconds and took his fourth main event win of the season, thirty seconds ahead of second place.  Mitchell Oldenburg was back from injury.  He led the first lap of the first heat race, but the mud got the better of him and he finished fifth.  In the main Oldenburg went down a few times on the challenging track but still finished up sixth.

Indianapolis was the first of two East/West Showdowns.  The West’s red-plate holder, Aaron Plessinger, was back after a long break in the series, to defend his point’s lead.  Plessinger finished third in his heat race.  In the main he got caught in a first turn pile-up, which sent him to the back of the field.  His speed and ability to execute passes evidently showed why he was the West’s point’s leader, and he crossed the chequered flag, with an impressive fifth-place finish. The team’s East fill-in rider, Ramette had a strong heat race – finishing in sixth.  In the main Ramette took a nineteenth-place finish.

Aaron Plessinger remains the Championship leader on the West and he extents his lead by five points, from four to nine. Both coasts will have a break for the Easter Holiday.  The Monster Energy Supercross series will return with a West Regional round in Seattle, on April 7, 2018.

Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing was back this weekend, after having both of its Eastern Regional riders absent in Daytona.  Fill-in rider, Thomas Ramette flew to California, from France, earlier in the week.  He only got two days of riding in before St. Louis.  Ramette qualified ninth, then finished fourth in the second heat race.  In the main he got off to a seventh-place start and took a top-ten finish, despite having such little time on the bike.
