The time had finally come for the 2019 Motocross of Nations. The deep sand of Assen was not to be taken lightly as it was unlike any U.S track on the Pro Circuit. Star’s Justin Cooper, along with two other team USA riders travelled to Europe two weeks prior to acclimate themselves to deep sand. The two-day event started off with a bang as Justin Cooper won the MX2 qualifying heat. With the rest of Team USA’s results, they went into race day with a third in qualifying. Race day arrived with the pouring rain. Cooper crashed in the first moto an hurt his hand. He pushed through the pain and finished both of his motos, but did not get the results he had hoped for. Needless to say, team USA gave it their all in the wet and treacherous conditions, and finished sixth overall.
