This weekend was the sixth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross at Red Bud Raceway in Buchanan, Michigan and the Mysplash/Metal Mulisha/ Star Racing / Yamaha team had a stand out weekend proving they are a top team with all three riders finishing in the top 7!
The veteran Kyle Cunningham of Aledo, Texas on the number 38 machine again once showed his strength of consistency. In the first moto, Kyle came around on this first lap in 21st and he made some aggressive moves passing riders! By the fourth lap he was up to 11th! He continued to make smart moves and found his self in 7th when the checkered flag waved! In the second moto, Cunningham came around a solid 9th place on the first lap. Despite a quick fall he worked his way up to 8th place. Once again proving consistency pays off with a 6th place overall finish for the day. Cunningham currently sits in 8th in points.
The 77 bike of Jeremy Martin from Millville, Minnesota had an outstanding weekend and got his first overall podium! In the first moto, Martin found his self in third place off the start. Just after half way point in the moto, KTMs Marvin Musquin got by after a hard fought battle for third. Martin got 4th in the first moto. With a fourth place being Jeremy’s best finish of the season he wanted to build for the second moto. Martin got a stellar start and was in second place for much of the second moto. Although Gieco Hondas Eli Tomac got passed him on the 12th lap he got his career best third place finish! He also got 3rd over all for the day! Jeremy Martin is currently in 7th for the overall points standing.
The rookie Cooper Webb, 175 of Newport, North Carolina also had an outstanding weekend. In the first moto, Webb came around in 9th place on the first lap and fought hard to pass up to 6th place. In the second moto, Webb got off to not the best start and came around 13th on the first lap. He rode smart and made moves passing up to 9th place. Webb got 7th overall for the weekend at Red Bud and currently sits in 10th place in the overall points standings.
All three of the Mysplash/Metal Mulisha/ Star Racing / Yamaha team riders are looking forward to the weekend off to build on the momentum gained this weekend.
